Details
YOSEMITE: One of the most beautiful places in America: World famous. A UN World Heritage site. There's Half Dome. Incredible waterfalls. Mountains. Giant trees. If you've never been to Yosemite, this is your chance... It's almost impossible to get a campsite in Yosemite, but we got 'em. So join us for a weekend of hiking, camping, and hanging out! This is the perfect time to go -- the waterfalls should be roaring and it's before the weather turns really hot. And if you're going by yourself and worried you won't know anyone...well, that's the way it is is for almost everyone -- these trips and a great way to make some new friends!

SCHEDULE/HIKES:
FRIDAY: Explore the high country on Tioga Road and visit the Hetch Hetchy lake area.
SATURDAY: Our featured hike; we will head to Glacier Point and do the Panorama Trail + Yosemite Valley. (Alternate hike(s) might also be offered.)
SUNDAY: Optional morning hike. Pack up and leave.
THE PANORAMA TRAIL HIKE: From the start of the trail at Glacier Point, you can see all of Yosemite Valley in front of you, with Half Dome, the iconic granite symbol of the park in the center, flanked by giant waterfalls to your left and right. Soon you will be hiking to everything you see before you; You will soon be right next to those raging waterfalls and right at the base of Half Dome. You will not be disappointed. The hike takes up half the day (we'll take our time) but we're doing it the smart way -- we're starting from the top so it's almost all downhill. This is not a hardcore trip, but please be in good shape with some hiking experience.
CAMPFIRE TIME + HANGING OUT: This trip will be ambitious but I like to keep it a really good mix. We're doing amazing hikes in the day but when night falls, we'll eat and drink, and hang around the campfire, maybe play some games, tell stories, and get to know each other. For some, this is their favorite part of these trips. .
GETTING THERE
Depending on where in L.A. you are, Yosemite is about a 6 hour drive. Carpooling is required - you coordinate your carpool thru a carpool tool I link to. You will split gas cost and you'll also split the $30 park entrance fees (though a lot of people have the Parks Pass, which makes the entrance free.)
RSVP INSTRUCTIONS:
I want to make sure you're prepared will be ready to go. So once you RSVP I'll email you a short survey/questions which you need to return to me (So don't forget to give me your email address when you RSVP.) And you won't officially be on the trip until you're confirmed and pay. There will be people going from different Meetup groups so the RSVP's you see here show you an incomplete picture
COST for the 3 Night trip is $115 per person.
NEVER CAMPED BEFORE? Don't worry, this is car-camping -- it's civilized! It's a developed campground with real bathrooms - you park and camp near your car. You should have basic gear for car camping -- sleeping bag, pad, flashlight/headlamp, the right clothes and shoes, etc. If you don't have a tent, don't worry, we always end up having enough tent space, so you can find space in someone's tent. (And I bring 3 tents if needed). Cups, plates and utensils will be supplied. Cooking gear, including pots, skillets, 3 stoves, etc are also available for you to use. Campsite has a BBQ grill too. You supply your own food (mostly) but on Friday night, with a little help, I'll cook up something simple like hot dogs etc. And one morning I might even make my famous blueberry pancakes.
YOSEMITE: Mountains, campfires, new friends. Join us.
But remember, as always: No Dogs, No Kids and No Bad Attitudes.
