To celebrate the opening of our new Discord channel, we want to celebrate and hold a #FridayDevDrinks event! 🥳🍾

Friday Dev Drinks is an event to gather different people from all over the IT industry in a relaxed and social way. The event is not only about tech, but about anything around it: the people, the social talks and the drinks!

In order to get everybody off the ground, we will have Hendrik Niehues to show us a thing or two about Cocktails - especially Gin! 🍸🧊

Hendrik spent over 4 years as a bartender, before he joined the developer community on Instagram as @codingnemo.

He will take this Friday to show us a couple of tricks and drinks. Some easy, but tasty Gin Cocktails for you to follow and mix-along. Feel free to mix together with Hendrik or bring your own drink and learn some things about Gin and bartending. 🤗🤙🏽

Hendrik will be preparing a set of different Gin Cocktails. If you want to mix along, you should prepare these things:

  • A mixing glas (any kind of glas in which you can mix and stir ingredients in will work)
  • A mixing spoon (again, some sort of spoon to stir would work!)
  • A highball glas (take any glas you can find!)
  • A jigger (small fluid measurement)
  • A bunch of ice cubes! 😃

Tom Collins:

  • Your favorite bottle of gin
  • sugar syrup (sometimes called simple syrup)
  • fresh lemon juice ( 1 fresh lemon)
  • soda water (club soda)

Gin Julep:

  • Your favorite bottle of gin
  • Mint leaves
  • sugar syrup (sometimes called simple syrup)

Gin Cocktail

  • Your favorite bottle of gin
  • curacao (or triple sec)
  • sugar syrup (sometimes called simple syrup)
  • Angostura (or Boker's) bitters
  • lemon peel for garnish

These Cocktails will contain alcohol and we do encourage anybody at the legal drinking age to enjoy alcoholic beverages responsibly.

If you don't like to drink alcohol (or are not allowed to) or enjoy non-alcoholic gin, feel free to join us regardless for chats, laughs and new faces!

During the Friday Dev Drinks event you will be able to ask questions or initiate any kind of conversation with all the participants, so feel free to swing by, if you want to learn some nice cocktails or only want to get to know some of the people!
