Let's play tennis - social hit
Everyone is welcome to join us for a social hit on Saturday mornings anytime between 9.30am and 12noon; 50c donation. Please UN-RSVP (BY THURSDAY evening) if you can't make it so that another player (on the wait-list) can be notified in time to secure your spot. There are 5 public asphalt courts at the University grounds at Mt Eden, which we sometimes have to share with non-meet-up players. We play doubles, have one service each, so four games altogether. Then we let another group of four play. This often means waiting around until your fair turn comes up again. A great time to be social with others. Please be tolerant if you have to wait for a bit or if the people you play with have different skills levels. While waiting for your next turn, please organise yourself into a new group of four, ready to go on - so that there are no play-delays for everyone. Also remember a bit of tennis etiquette when walking on and off the courts - if you pass a game in action. We have 3 spare racquets, first-come - first basis. We allocate 2 good meet-up balls per court; please leave your own ones in your bag. The library toilets open at 10am, but closed during public holidays (in that case we will try to find another one open somewhere on campus - just ask us where on the day). There is a water tap by one of the nearby buildings. Some of us head off at 12pm for coffee/lunch upstairs at the I-Press Cafe in Mt Eden (corner Essex/Mt Eden Rd) and everyone is welcome to join us. PS: Your small donation helps pay for new tennis balls, plus the annual meet-up fee. ******If you are new to tennis - you may wish to firstly consider attending some group coaching classes, run by Nelson Cuellar[masked] (Cardio Tennis or Easy Tennis Lesson)****** Thanks from the tennis committee.

What we're about

Hi and welcome everyone. I am very glad to see that there are so many people interested in playing tennis.

This is a group for anyone interested in tennis. All skills levels are welcome.

You are more than welcome to suggest tennis courts or playing times and start a new event.

The event is on only when it is not raining.

I look forward to playing tennis with you all!
