Sofia Crypto Meetup #48 - Blockchain Interoperability

Details
Blockchain interoperability is considered essential for the long-term success of blockchain networks. It aims to create universal protocols that could safely, reliably and [hopefully] trustlessly interact with each other, not only in terms of value (crypto/tokens) but of also of computations (smart contracts).
If realized, interoperability could unleash powerful network effects that make blockchain tech more user-friendly and mainstream blockchain adoption more probable. In an interconnected internet of blockchains, it won't matter on which chain you are on, be it a public, private, or consortium one – you can migrate your value and business at any time.
Interoperability sounds like one of the worthiest goals to pursue by the crypto community. Despite that, only two major projects are working towards its achievement – Cosmos and Polkadot.
The former has been around since 2014 and has the most experience and highest number of original lines of code.
To update us on the state of blockchain interoperability, we have invited Billy Rennekamp from Interchain GmbH (Cosmos Ecosystem). Billy will be the guest of honor during our regular [but again online] meetup and will update us on the current state of blockchain interoperability, the most compelling developments in the space you should be looking forward to, and some of the interoperability killer use cases that the pros are focusing on in 2020 and beyond.
Here is the agenda:
19:30 – The Biggest News in April by Anastasia Angelova, NEXO
19:40 – Sponsor Announcements
19:45 – Blockchain Interoperability, Billy Rennekamp, Interchain GmbH, Berlin
20:15 – Q&A Session
Special thanks goes to our sponsors BitHope.org, æternity, and Nexo.
The discussion will be in English.
