What we're about
This is a group of young adults between the ages of 18 and 30ish. While most are on the spectrum, some have other disabilities. We do not turn anyone away and invite anyone that has the desire but may be too anxious, to have an active social life to participate. We come together twice a month in 2 groups:
Found It Peer Support and SODA.
*Found It Peer Support focuses on the daily challenges the we face in life. Like a lot of groups, at times, we will watch a short video and have a discussion about the video, we may pull a topic out of a hat, or just sit back and discuss the first thing that comes to mind.
**SODA focuses on the social aspect of living with a disability and it’s right in our name! Social Opportunities for Disabled Adults (SODA). We have our social our where we sit and plan a calendar of upcoming events. We also may throw in a little gaming too.
If nothing else, drop in to say hello and have a snack with us every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at the KROC.
*Peer Support does not require a parent or caregiver. However, all participants must be able to actively communicate and the individual must be able to care for themselves.
**SODA requires a parent/caregiver to be present in order to participate unless the participant is self sufficient.
Found It! is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) and works with SODA to help bring social activities to those that may need a little nudge to get out there and be social!
