Want to control your circuits with just a finger?
Use a bespoke knitted finger sleeve (http://blog.jesseseay.com/finger-sleeve-sensors).
For this workshop, you'll assemble a pre-knitted finger sensor to fit your digit. No sewing skill required.
The sensor is knitted from resistive yarn, and acts as a variable resistor, with a maximum resistance of anywhere from 5 to 50k Ohm (depends on the size of your digits).
Please bring your own circuit to try it out-- it's perfect for Arduino but will also work in an analog circuit (think: analog synth interface!).
Workshop fee is $10, includes one finger sensor. Additional sleeves available at the workshop for $5 each. To reserve your spot, please RSVP, and include the circumference of your hand in inches. This allows me to knit a sensor specifically to fit you.
How to measure your hand circumference (http://www.glove.org/Modern/glovemeasure.php)
Recommended: bring a snug fingerless glove and we can attach the sensor to it.
Bonus points if you can come up with a better name than "Finger Sensor".
If you've got a really great circuit application but can't afford the workshop fee, contact me about a fee waiver.
