The Sole idea
Running is a way of life, a culture like no other here at Sole Sports. Join us on another 18 mile journey.
Second Annual Running Sole to Sole:
The run is point to point, and we require runners be self sufficient with hydration and nutrition. It is not a race but a fun running adventure. There will be no streets or intersections closed. This is an unsupported event taking place on regular city sidewalks, streets and canal paths. The run is free, everyone who wants to participate will need to sign a waiver before the start.
The Sole 2 Sole Route:
The group run will start at Sole Sports Scottsdale. We will be heading south on the Scottsdale Greenbelt. We will run under the 202 loop and over Tempe Town Lake into Tempe via Scottsdale Rd/Rural Rd. The group will turn right on Rio Salado and left on Packard Dr. Winding through 6th st, Veterans Way and McAllister Ave. Turning right (west) on Apache then left (south) on College Ave. Proceed to Baseline and turn right (west) and run through Kiwanis Park via the Western Canal. Turning left (east) on Warner to Sole Sports Tempe. Please obey all traffic laws and the first half which runs along the Scottsdale Greenbelt, please stay to the right so that other pedestrians and cyclists can pass. Since the group run is a point to point, runners can park at the finish (Sole Tempe) and catch a ride on the London Double Decker Bus for $15. The bus will take runners at 6 AM to Sole Sports Scottsdale, and the bus will not return to Tempe. Space is limited and first come first serve.
Relay or Beach Cruiser Option
You can make the 18 mile run a relay, but it is up to you to find a running partner and the logistics that go along with it. The 9 mile point will be on Rural and Rio Salado.
If you want to take your bike you are more than welcome to do so, just remember to find a way to get your bike home, you can leave your bike at Sole Sports if you want to pick it up later that day.
