These drop-in classes are designed to provide attendees with opportunities for expansion, integration and renewal within the body. Through study of movement patterns and movement systems, we inquire into our human nature as a body- living, walking, laying, sitting, and playing on the earth. Some pathways of exploring body-based learning here include: guided movement, music and silence, meditative awareness, expressive and creative movement, curiosity, interaction, discussion and reflection, and play. This approach is often applied to yoga, dance, meditation, sports, massage, physical therapy, psychotherapy, coaching, etc. These classes are not geared towards pushing the body towards extremes, nor are they aerobic or strenuous work outs. This is a gentle approach which supports inner knowing of one's own comforts, limits, and challenging edges towards growth.
Hello all! This meet-up will be held 2:30-4pm Saturday April 27 at Studio One, 28780 John R Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
This is a gentle guided invitation to movement, awakening awareness, facilitating greater ease, and opening up new possibilities and pathways in the body. The special focus of this class will be on experiencing the senses in real time, discussing the development of the senses before and after birth, and allowing playful, inquiry-based exploration.
Wear clothing to support being comfortable sitting, standing, walking, playing, rolling on the floor, or whatever your body wants to do- opting out of any activity at any time is absolutely allowed.
