SiS Learning Series: Group Vocal Master Class

This guided group singing class has been created for singer songwriters in mind. Whether you want to sing for your own enjoyment, or have a performance goal in mind, Debby will help you discover what's needed in order to produce your best possible sound. Singers of every vocal level will learn to confidently connect with their voice within this safe classroom environment.

What do we have in common with our favorite singers? Our bodies! Structural and tonal vocal exercises will be taught in order to further understand the physical component of voice work. Equally important will be an ear training portion which is so integral to creating our beautiful motifs, melodies and harmonies.

Please bring a piece you are working on (with your instrument of choice). Debby will treat the second half of class as a Master Class. This gentle critique will catapult your pieces from good to GREAT.

Instructor Bio

DEBBY BOLAND WATT, an improvisational vocalist, arts educator & composer, earned her Master of Fine Arts from Goddard College and as a Jazz Vocalist has a Bachelors Degree from Seattle's Cornish College of the Arts. Born in Chicago, she now calls the Pacific Northwest her home. Debby has studied in New York with the famed Bobby McFerrin and is Seattle's best-known facilitator of an Improvisational A Cappella form referred to as Circle Singing. Dusty Strings Music School supports one of her four NW Studios where she teaches Creative Vocal Techniques.
