Grand Canyon Weekend Ride!

Needs a location

This is a Sky Island Riders of Tucson event.
We ask our Sunriders to sign up on Meetup to help track interest. For additional information, updates, or to make inquiries click the Facebook link. https://www.facebook.com/events/401990411313899/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A[%7B%22surface%22%3A%22group%22%7D]%7D

All active SIR riders are invited, along with local clubs (Sonoran Sunriders, Green Valley, +) that might have interested riders can pass this on.
A couple of us from the Sky Island Riders (SIRs) are planning a ride up to the Grand Canyon, June 17-19, 2022. We will be spending two nights away in Flagstaff, about 750 miles from Tucson.

We will ride up to Flagstaff on Friday. On Saturday, we'll loop from Flagstaff to Grand Canyon Village and back to Flagstaff. Early checkout on Sunday, with breakfast in Sedona and a ride home.

This is not a beginner's ride or a guided tour. Bikes and riders will need to be able to handle sections of 60-65 mph highway traffic in a group ride setting. There are only a few short bits, but this is not the time to learn.

Lodging and meals are up to individuals riders. We'll plan & post all meet-up info, ride times, and rally points along the way on the Fb link below.

National Vespa Parade Night, 2022!

Needs a location

What is National Vespa Parade Night? Only one of the best nights ever! It's an opportunity for Vespisti or Scooteratti to gather and ride! The Vespa Club Of America (VCOA) wants you to help promote scooter riding, and all scoots are welcome. We don’t need a hundred scooters to make a parade, but it sure would be nice. So let's get out, show our scooter pride, and wave to people. Enjoy your scooter and club!

Fifth Annual Meet, Greet, Eat, & Ride!

Needs a location

Celebrate our fourth anniversary and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with your scooter club at Luci's At The Grove, Scottsdale!

A little Sonoran Sunriders Anniversary history:

October 13, 2018, on a gray Saturday, we held our Inaugural Sonoran Sunriders meetup at La Grande Orange. Because of the looming skies, we cut our ride a little short. Mere minutes after it ended, the sky dumped 2.19 inches on our beloved Valley of the Sun. None of us got home dry. Our first anniversary brought sunshine, good friends, and an enjoyable ride to The Hole In The Rock and Hunts Tomb. I think a busload of German tourists went home and bought scooters for themselves! Ultimately, this was the ride we'd hoped to have the previous year.

The day of our third Meet, Greet, Eat, and Ride also dawned bright, despite COVID-19 hanging over our heads. Twenty-twenty was the year we learned how perfect our scooters were for social distancing while still being social! We were honored to have The Sky Island Riders come up from Tucson to share in the festivities. What a great bunch! We also visited Arizona Falls and took in the beautiful views of Phoenix from Camelback Mountain, in addition to our traditional ride.

Last year brought lovely weather, lots of good folks, beautiful murals, and fun! We had about 2 dozen peeps from around the Valley and Tucson turn up to celebrate with us at La Grande Orange. After breakfast, we toured the beautiful murals of Phoenix, ending at The Churchill in the Roosevelt District.

This year we decided to change our breakfast venue to more easily accommodate our growing numbers.
