What we're about
This is a social group for women of Generation X (born in the 60s, 70s, or early 80s) who are interested in friendship as well as growing and exploring intellectually or artistically. We have a mix of activities: classical music concerts, hikes, book discussions, wine tastings, museums, coffee, brunch, etc. Not every gathering has to be a lecture on quantum physics, and sometimes we just see a silly comedy at the movies or go out for happy hour. But our conversation topics tend more toward Sonia Sotomayor than Kim Kardashian. No drama, no pettiness. Just civilized, friendly, supportive women who, once upon a time, lived and loved big hair, John Hughes films, grunge, Saturday morning cartoons, and Life Cereal ads starring Mikey (who is alive and well and did not die from eating Pop Rocks and soda). So, OK, maybe we weren’t sophisticated when we were kids…but we’re getting more so every year, and enjoying ourselves!
At some events, attendees may be asked ahead of time to contribute $1-2 to help cover Meetup fees, since all Meetup Organizers are charged fees to maintain groups. No profit will be generated for your Organizer.
