This group is for those keen to meet (currently online) with other freethinkers, humanists, atheists and secularists. Our meetings are usually light and social. Sometimes we have discussions or presentations.
The group is run by South African Secular Society (registered NPO) leaders - see our website - https://secularsociety.org.z (https://secularsociety.org.za/)a (http://secularsociety.org.za/). Our goals are to develop and support the non-religious community in South Africa, to provide opportunities for socialising and secular education, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage a positive atheist/non-believing culture, to defend the principle of separation of religion and government, and to oppose discrimination against the non-religious in South Africa.
We also have interests in supporting human rights including those of LGBTIQ+ people, women, and children.
Let's meet, have a cuppa and hang out together with fellow nonbelievers. There will be no formal theme or activity, just an opportunity to chat about whatever you want or need to, and to welcome in the new year.
This is an in person event and the venue will be confirmed closer to the time. It will be in the southern suburbs of Cape Town - Rosebank, Claremont or similar.
