What we’re about

The South ATL Maker Network is for people interested in making or building their own projects of whatever kind.  There are other maker groups in Metro Atlanta, so our focus is Fulton County south of the City of Atlanta, and areas to the south and west.  This area includes Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, from whose airport code (ATL) we draw part of our name.  We intend to cooperate with and support the whole maker community in North Georgia.

The original founder of the group didn't do much with it, and I (Dani Eder) was asked to take up the slack, which I am doing.  We don't yet have a central makerspace in this part of town.  So for now our group is styled as a "network".  Those of us who have workshops, tools, and skills can work with those who don't yet.   I have a basement workshop that I am setting up, and 3 acres in Fairburn.   Creative Fuel Studios in Peachtree City has a well equipped workshop.  Those are enough to get started until we build a permanent location.
