Fremont Older Monthly - Advanced Beginner to Intermediate Ride
RSVPs open 2 weeks before the ride and close the day before at 8PM. TIRES ROLL AT 10:30AM. Arrive early, be prepared to park down the road from the entrance if the lot is full (it frequently is), and be ready to ride at the parking lot info sign at 10:30 precisely. Meet at the Fremont Older Preserve parking lot on Prospect Road in Cupertino by the information sign. This will be about a 90 minute 7+ mile ride. Rainy weather will cause a ride cancellation. In the case the ride will be cancelled, I will post an update by 9AM. Be considerate of my volunteer time as a ride organizer and of your fellow riders in the group; This ride has a strict policy of ZERO no-shows. If you RSVP and then don't show to this ride, you may be removed from the South Bay Mountain Bike group or removed from future rides at my discretion. Please be courteous and drop out early enough (the day before at the latest) to give other riders a chance to adjust their schedules and attend. ***Please remember, a helmet and eye protection is required for all our rides*** Event hosts are not your sherpas, bring what you will need to fix your own bike, like a tube, pump, and chain master link. Ride Details: Difficulty: Easy to moderate, with smooth wide trails for beginners and a few short single-tracks. Fremont Older is hilly and has moderately steep but relatively short climbs. On my scale of 1-5, with 1 being easy - this may be a level 2-3 ride. Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guest are not allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member. Directions: Exit Highway 85 at De Anza Boulevard. (From northbound Hwy. 85 turn left on De Anza Blvd. and from southbound Hwy. 85 turn right on De Anza Blvd.) Travel west on De Anza Blvd. (toward the mountains) for about 0.5 miles. Turn right on Prospect Rd. Then at the first stop sign, turn left and cross the railroad tracks to remain on Prospect Rd. Follow Prospect Road uphill for 1.3 miles, turning left after the Saratoga Country Club, until you reach the preserve parking lot. Release of Liability: By joining this event, you hereby RELEASE and DISCHARGE it's owners, principals, affiliates, presenters, organizer, assistant organizer, hosts and participants from any and all liability, claims, demands or causes of action that you now have, or may have in the future, for injuries, damages, death and/or economic loss of any kind or nature, arising in whole or in part out of the activities, advice or information contained herein. This is what we do!

Northern California's Premier Mountain Biking Group

IMBA Club Supporter

Anyone that has been bitten by the mountain biking bug, knows there's no turning back and there are never enough rides.

We are not a professional organization, the leadership team is a group of volunteers who love to ride and love to share the passion for riding with others.

Our membership group is comprised of riders with various skill levels and ages. We may have different fitness levels, but all share the common interest to ride a mountain bike.

"No Rider Left Behind" This is the policy of the South Bay Mountain Bike Group, because we will ride as a team.

I invite you to check out our calendar of future and past rides to see some of the great places we have found to ride. If this looks like fun and interests you, we welcome you to join us at South Bay Mountain Bike Group.

Come on out to enjoy the great views and the quiet away from everyday noise. Mountain Biking in the San Jose area is a great way to get exercise, have fun and meet some awesome people.

***Please remember, a helmet is required for all our rides.***
