What we're about

South Florida (Broward County) FPV Quad Racing Meetup. http://www.racefpvdrone.com (http://www.racefpvdrone.com/)

What We Are About

We are a Meetup Group that aims to have fun racing FPV (First Person View) quad-copters. This sport is gaining members very rapidly and I hope to add to the group that already meets up regularly. Over time I hope to be able to get an I-Lap system for taking time trials, and to one day hold a major event somewhere in South Florida. (I am currently exploring venues for this purpose)

We are a rag tag group of fliers, and we have about 8 core members that are already meeting up weekly at various flying locations.

Who Should Join

Our ideal members would be drone enthusiasts that enjoy First Person View style racing. We are a group that hold impromptu meetings that I hope to organize a bit better. We are a small group that covers the gamut of very experienced pilots, to pilots who have only been flying a few days. (Non-rate flyers). All are welcome!

Why You Should Join

Joining the meetup would be a great way to learn better build techniques, better flying techniques, and to have a great time!

What To Expect

Generally speaking we fly in groups of two or three, due to video bandwidth issues. We are working on getting more organized into left side vs right side antenna choices and moving to racing bands. But in general, we tend to fly two or three at a time and just have fun running nature's natural courses. Trees, parking lots, fields, etc. are all places we have flown. We meetup during the day at various parks in Broward County and we run for a few hours.
