The South Florida Watersports Community is for those that want to let loose and explore new adventures on and in the water. We are looking for like-minded people to grow this community and challenge ourselves whether scuba diving, paddle boarding, kayaking, and meeting new friends that share the same enjoyment for life. We welcome all levels of expertise from new people to a particular watersport, and the seasoned instructor that puts true value on training and experience. We host bi-weekly events that can range from beach cleanup and restoration, to instructional workshops, and themed hosted trips to national parks and dive sites in our local waters from Palm Beach to the Keys. We are looking forward to growing this like-minded, safe, and adventurous watersports community together!
We are back.....With some changes to KEEP YOU SAFE!
***COVID & Safety***
A crisis brings you clarity about what is truly important: Your well-being and safety. A decision was made to ensure your safety no matter the cost, so at each event, your organizer WILL give you a FREE MASK and have readily available hand sanitizer. We understand most organizers in groups won't go to this extent, or enforce, but it's a small price to pay for your safety. These items must be worn during close proximity (generally accepted 6ft of one another). We know some days will be hotter than others and will do our best to ensure we are heading into the water, or A/C environment promptly.
Our first event back will be held this Sunday Morning @ 9:00AM on September 27. In keeping with tradition of the very first Meetup event we ran, we will be doing a Beach Dive and Snorkel at Lauderdale by the Sea. This became a staple in previous years due to the accessibility of the beach, beautiful reefs, and tasty restaurants in walking distance.
Now, It's time to head back to the beach.
There are two reefs full of marine life easily accessible from the shore.
Dive will commence at 9AM, We will meet at our new location at:
AQUI Water Sports: 222 Commercial BLVD, STE 106, Lauderdale by the Sea, FL 33308
From here, we can walk to the beach for snorkelers, or carpool/drive to the parking lot after. Freshly installed coffee bar to get your morning started right.
PLEASE show up by 8:30AM if you need to rent gear. Parking is $1.50 per hour. You can also park a block away. MOST meters have Pay by Phone Parking; otherwise, bring quarters.
