What we're about

Hi - our group is for meeting new people, making friends, networking, & simply having fun! Many of our events will include happy hours, dinners, films & film festivals, cultural events, brunches, and more. If that all sounds like fun, then you are found the right group.

Our main Event Host is David, and although most of his events are in Philadelphia, we welcome input from group members about ideas for events & assistance in hosting in NJ. David usually lists his phone # in his events, but you can also MeetUp Message him with ideas and he'll coordinate it with you. Our events are usually FREE to Attend, and at happy hours & dinners we will all receive separate checks, so you are only paying for what you ordered. We've tried to use lots of common sense to keep things simple, low cost, and fun!

Still sound like a terrific group? Next step is checking out our upcoming events & RSVPing. See you soon!

In addition to the Free Screening, afterwards there will a special Q&A about the film with actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Ice Cube’s Son)! I will be there to Host this event and we will meet in front of the Ritz Five Movie Theater at 7pm. The screening actually starts at 7:30, but we've been told to arrive early. Your name will be on a MeetUp Guest List, so if you go by only one name on MeetUp, I recommend that you also add your last name in the "comments" section below. YES you can bring up to 5 Guests. LONG SHOT Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen) is a gifted and free-spirited journalist with an affinity for trouble. Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron) is one of the most influential women in the world. Smart, sophisticated, and accomplished, she’s a powerhouse diplomat with a talent for…well, mostly everything. The two have nothing in common, except that she was his babysitter and childhood crush. When Fred unexpectedly reconnects with Charlotte, he charms her with his self-deprecating humor and his memories of her youthful idealism. As she prepares to make a run for the Presidency, Charlotte hires Fred as her speechwriter, much to the dismay of her trusted advisors. A fish out of water on Charlotte’s elite team, Fred is unprepared for her glamourous lifestyle in the limelight. However, sparks fly as their unmistakable chemistry leads to a round-the-world romance and a series of unexpected and dangerous incidents. From the celebrated team of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, creators of outrageous comedy hits including THIS IS THE END and NEIGHBORS, LONG SHOT also features O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Den of Thieves, Straight Outta Compton), Andy Serkis (Black Panther, Planet of the Apes), June Diane Raphael (The Disaster Artist, Grace & Frankie), Ravi Patel (TV’s Master of None) and Alexander Skarsgård (TV’s Big Little Lies and The Legend of Tarzan). The film was directed by Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies). STARRING: Seth Rogen, Charlize Theron, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Andy Serkis, June Diane Raphael, with Bob Odenkirk, and Alexander Skarsgård trailer: https://youtu.be/ZKsc2I4Tgsk ~ Q&A with actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. ~ He first broke out on the scene in Straight Outta Compton, delivering a breakthrough performance as his father, Ice Cube. O’Shea most recently wrapped shooting Destin Daniel Cretton’s Just Mercy opposite Michael B. Jordan, Brie Larson, and Jamie Foxx. He will next appear in Jonathan Levine’s LONG SHOT opposite Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen, as well as Legendary’s Godzilla: King Of Monsters.
