June's SW Java Meetup will be hosted by Scott Logic at their offices on King Street.
Alex Birch will present a tour of Java (the platform, not the language). Comparisons will be drawn to .NET, to clarify where these platforms align and differ. The state-of-the-art in JVM will be explored, revealing how to run software in new ways and with different performance profiles.
Alex is a Senior Developer and Very Full Stack Engineer at Scott Logic (https://www.scottlogic.com/). Hailing from Microsoft and the Silicon Valley start-up scene, he has operated JVM software at scale. Alex likes to explore how software is built and runs, from orchestration down to bytecode.
We hope you’ll all make Alex feel welcome on the night during what seems likely to be, a detailed tour of Java!
As always, beers and pizzas kindly sponsored by Scott Logic will make an undoubtedly swift appearance before disappearing. As will a JetBrains license!
Look forward to seeing you all!
