Being welcomed to the virtual stage we have.....
⚡Nick Oppersdorff, Lead SDET at Velo Payments, a company focussed on simplifying B2B payments. His primary focus is designing and scaling their automated test frameworks to ensure they can deploy new changes quickly and with confidence.
Topic: Evolution of a Test Framework
A lot of companies starting out on their automated testing journey might struggle to visualise how their framework would evolve and be improved over time. This talk aims to provide an overview of the journey we have taken at Velo Payments over the past 3 years, starting from a handful of Selenium tests run manually, to a more holistic framework incorporating API tests and UI tests running in our CI pipeline, improved reporting and our efforts to stabilise these tests along with some lessons learned along the way.
⚡Christian Miles – QA Manager for Dyson, responsible for Automation Testing and Performance Testing.
Topic: Intuition in Testing
Christian will be talking about using intuition in software testing. How the pairing of methodical, scripted testing, when combined with intuitive, investigative testing finds the most defects. How changing your thinking patterns can give you greater results and greater satisfaction.
⚡Aaron Flynn SDET for Brightpearl
Topic: Sharing your experiences through Writing
We learn more when we share with others. I’ve made a conscious effort to share more, and to do it publicly. I’d like to share my experience with writing publicly over the past year. Why I do it, the things I’ve learned, and the benefits of sharing your own experiences. We all have a unique perspective, why not share yours?
⚡John Hill - Web UI Test Engineer, Space Mission Control Software
Topic: This Is A Selenium Test
Selenium tests are often considered slow and unreliable.
In this interactive demo, we'll deconstruct a typical selenium test and trace where it's time is spent. We'll start with the worst case scenario and reduce the runtime and increase the reliability tenfold. Even if you're using another testing tool like Cypress or TestCafe, you'll be able to apply these techniques to your tests or test automation architecture.
The meetup will be hosted on Crowdcast, please use this link https://www.crowdcast.io/e/lightning-talk-bonanza
