What we're about

This is the perfect club for those who feel intimidated about playing chess with strangers or fear they are not 'good' enough to play a real person on an actual board. We are very welcoming to all people who like chess. Ever wonder why someone moved to a certain square, or what's the best move? Ask and learn. Take a sip of drink and talk it over. We are not looking for Grandmaster play but would like to stay on topic at a casual level and possibly learn a little on the way.

There is no need to be a prodigy or a tournament player to enjoy good company. We usually sit around and chit chat before any boards come out. Meeting good people that enjoy chess is the end goal.

We normally play at this great coffee shop where they enjoy our business and we benefit from a good location (Southern suburbs). We occasionally will meet at other venues as well.

Adults only. Sounds mean huh? Maybe it is, but most kids have access to chess at school and many have youth chess clubs and tournaments of their own. I believe it is harder for adults to find fellow chess players than kids.

Live long, play chess.
