NOTICE ONLY - The DeCou SunRise Team Championship - Featuring the DD Cup

The 2nd annual Denise Donald Cup will be battled for the week of Aug 2 - 6 at the Decou Courts during the SunRise (6:00AM-8:00AM) Team Championship. Think Ryder Cup in golf. Two teams of 14 players each will be drafted by team captains (Dan Host & Marty Einhorn - defending champs vs Lance Stopek and Larry Emerson). Pairings will be matched up as selected by the captains, and 2 games to 15 are played. Win both, you earn your team 1 point. Split your match, each team wins a 1/2 point. First team to 14.5 points wins the Denise Donald (Double D) Cup! The winning team also earns a celebratory evening out at PJ Wheilahans , and we make a sizable food donation to the Jewish Federation of SJ. This years MVP from the winning team will also earn a gift certificate from Everybody's Racquet (rt 38 Mt Laurel) your store for the best in paddles, court shoes, and apparel. Other prizes TBD are possible. Its a week of fun, team competition, where any one individual could be the difference for its team winning or losing. If you are interested in playing, let me know, however you must have played at SunRise during the year, were not looking for outside participation. We are making a list of players available, but you must be drafted to play. Please make sure you are available to play if drafted. Each team will have a reserve (2) so if you cant make a day, you should be ok. The draft will be July 25th, and you must be on the available players list to be eligible. There is a cost to participate, somewhere around $25 (balls, food donation, team party, etc...)
