Pine Point Practice Series

UPDATE: Season Opener: Practice your Roll, Rescues, Balance skills as a group inside the sand bar in protected water. If folks are interested in checking to see if there is any wave action on the bar that can be an option. There will be a group for beginners that stay inside and continue practicing without entering the surf zone. Weather is currently trending at 1-3 feet on 7 seconds. High Tide is at 2pm. There is currently a potential for an offshore wind. Will have briefing before we get on the water. Dress for full immersion.
These sessions are going to be coordinated by various folks from the Skill Building Team at SMSKN. Each session will be organized with a focus point and participants are encouraged to share their own knowledge and experience with other paddlers so that we all learn from and support each another.

All sessions will be held at Pine Point. This location has a variety of potential conditions available.
Bring: sea worthy kayak with attachable spray deck, kayak must float when swamped, PFD, helmets preferred (required for surfing), immersion clothing appropriate for water temperatures.
To ensure everyone safely gets the most out of this practice session, attendees should already be proficient in the following skills: Have a solid wet exit, know basic paddling strokes.
Trip level: Beginner (Level 1) and above
