What we're about

This is a friendly sociable Trekking and Hiking group for enthusiastic regular Adult walkers who have a shared love of the outdoors and the desire to explore new places on foot with like minded people.

The Southwest Trekking and Hiking Group is run on a voluntary basis by a group of friends who are experienced walk hosts who have led hundreds of walks between them.

With walks across the Southwest and into the mountains of Wales, to include the Cotswolds, Wiltshires White Horses, Iron Age Hillforts, to Stonehenge and Avebury, Somerset with the Mendips, Exmoor and coast paths, hills valleys and waterfalls... I hope we will have a great selection of walks for everyone.

Walks are graded on the difficulty of the terrain and length of walk combined, with typical walks ranging between 5 to 12 miles with some longer walks throughout the year, depending on the requests of the members. There may also be trips arranged in the future staying away in the Lake District and North Wales.

Terms & Conditions of joining the Southwest Trekking and Hiking Group are listed fully on the separate information Message Board pages from the 'More' drop down menu, but some are listed below, but not limited to these:

You must abide by the advise of the host whilst participating in the events listed.

Suitable footwear and clothing is your responsibility, and although the host reserves the right to refuse you to start the walk, you can not hold the host responsible for injuries you could sustain from your choice of clothing.
