At this Meetup Dr Susanne Etti will present an updated version of the slide show, as seen in the Academy Award-winning film, An Inconvenient Truth.
Susanne Etti is the Environmental Impact Specialist of the Intrepid Group, the world’s largest provider of adventure travel experiences. In this role she is responsible for climate change performance and implementing a culture of sustainability within the organisation. Intrepid Group has been a carbon neutral travel company since 2010 and in 2018 became the largest B Corp in the tourism sector globally.
In 2011 Dr. Susanne Etti qualified as a Climate Leader, having been trained by Nobel Laureate and former US Vice President Al Gore, personally as part of the Climate Reality Project. Susanne has presented over 70 presentations to date to business, university, community groups, councils and schools to raise awareness of climate change science, impacts and solutions spanning Africa, Europe and Asia- and we can't wait to hear her present!
The Climate Reality Project educational materials are some of the best scientific and impact analysis publicly available on climate change. The aim of the Climate Reality Project is to increase awareness of climate change with hundreds of thousands of people committed to building a better future together. The mission is to shape the conversation on climate and to build a 21st-century movement for solutions. In 2019, Susanne was selected as a mentor for new climate leaders at the 21st Climate Reality Training in Brisbane, Australia.
Dr. Susanne Etti received a master’s in Biology and earned her PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Bonn in collaboration with the University of Oxford studying the spread of infectious diseases due to climate change.
