What we’re about

New on Meetup, Bossuet Gaveliers is the oldest Club in Europe chartered in June 1956.

We are the only dining Club in Luxembourg meeting every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month to speak and learn together while enjoying delicious dinners.

We learn while we speak and we learn listening the evaluation of the speeches, the report of the grammarian on the good and bad usage of the language. We have an Ah & am counter and her/his report is always fun, as we learn about our behavior while we speak and are not aware of. All those under the supervision of a timer, who keeps our interventions on time.

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. The organization has more than 352,000 memberships. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,600 clubs in 143 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations. <br>In Luxembourg there are eight English speaking Clubs and only one French Speaking Club..

In case you were wondering, the club is named after Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet (1627-1704), a French bishop ("l'Aigle de Meaux") famous for his oratory. A gavel, of course, is that little hammer the president of a meeting (or a judge) uses to rap on his table or lectern.
