Brief History of Speecom

Speecom TMC was chartered in December 1981, and its sponsors were Simon Soh and YC Foong. Speecom is an acronym for Speech & Communication. It is the 6th oldest club in Peninsular Malaysia. Speecom meets bimonthly for almost 40 years. From Hotel Malaya to Sri Damansara Club, we Speecomers are committed to develop our speech and communication skills.

What Can You Expect at Our Meeting

In our meetings, we provide a friendly and encouraging environment for members to improve communication and leadership skills. As with most other Toastmaster Club, our meeting is conducted with three major sessions.

First Session - Table Topics

Participant is given a random topic to speak about for 2 to 3 minutes without prior preparation. This is a good platform for you to practice impromptu speaking and build up your confidence in everyday conversation.

Second Session - Prepared Speech

Participant will be giving a prepared speech ( usually 5 - 7 minutes ) according to toastmasters education program (Pathways; https://www.toastmasters.org/pathways-overview ) by Toastmaster International. You could be talking about yourself, some personal experience or things you research about. You will be gaining titles and recognition as you go along.

Third Session - Evaluation

Feedback is the breakfast for champion! Both table topic and prepared speech speakers will be evaluated. A designated evaluator will speak about your strength and areas of improvement for your learning benefit!
