Spirit's Quest Center is happy to bring you "Blessing Bags for the Community" - a quarterly event to help support our local community and beyond...

Often we find ourselves at a traffic light or in a parking lot next to a man, woman or family begging for change or food items. Have you experienced this before? You may feel compelled to help, and wish there was something more you could do. Maybe you’re not comfortable handing them money, but you feel guilty not doing anything. I've often reached for food items or an unopened drink to hand off. But at times I don't have these items with me in my car...

So each quarter Spirit's Quest will help you give back to the community by collecting items to create “Blessing Bags” - won't you join us!? Once we have enough items, we will set-up a date for people who want to participate to come in and assemble these Blessing Bags. You will also be encouraged to create inspiring messages or words of support to include in each bag. Bring your own letter, note, message of hope or make one at our center. Bring yourself, a friend or your family and take a few bags home to have on-hand in your car for passing along to someone in need.

Where will the items come from? Well, really it's pretty simple - you can often create one bag for only $3 or so. Money can be donated to help build the bags, you may have some of these wrapped and new items at home or you can purchase items at the Dollar Tree or some other store to bring in. Most items are individually packaged products that are sold in a large quantities. Here are some ideas for items we hope to collect:

Donation Ideas for Collection:
-Toothbrush & toothpaste
-Small Pack of Tissues
-Individual Antibacterial wipes
-Bandages
-Juice box
-Granola Bar
-Crackers and cheese or Peanut Butter and crackers
-Some change for making a phone call
-A pair of socks
-List of homeless shelters or food banks in the area
-Travel size deodorant
-Travel size bar soap
-Comb
-Large ziplock bags to create the bags
-Inspiring message or affirmative word to include
-Another good idea to help a person or family in need...

Thank you for considering joining us for this wonderful quarterly event! We will be collecting items for the entire month of January. If you are interested in helping, let us know what items you are willing to donate by sending us an email at: [masked] or giving us a call at[masked]. We can help you arrange a time to drop off your Blessing Bag items. Stay tuned for a February date to attend our Blessing Bag Workshop...

Let's keep the giving going strong and make it happen all year long :)
