What we’re about
For all those who love spiritual poetry of any kind -- Rumi, Neruda, Hafez, Rilke, Mary Oliver, Alice Walker, Dogen or Ryokan, Thomas Merton, Mirabai, Thich Nhat Hanh, Hildegard of Bingen -- whoever inspires you, takes you to a transcendent space, fills you with a sense of the beyond or infinite beauty that can't be contained. Bring a poem or wisdom quote you love, or choose a reading from the materials we have on hand, and let's read them and share what the poems or spiritual quotations mean to us.

We meet online the third Sunday of every month from 4:00-6:00pm to read and discuss spiritual poetry and wisdom quotes, and to share thoughts, feelings and insights inspired by the readings. About 25 people attend from several groups - we'd love to hear from you what poem or quote is meaningful to you - Do you love Rumi, Rilke, Joy Harjo, Hafiz, Mary Oliver, Alice Walker, Ryokan, Thomas Merton, Mirabai, Pablo Neruda, Hildegard of Bingen, Wendell Berry, Nâzım Hikmet, Thich Nhat Hanh or...? Every meetup is different, depending on what you choose to read and discuss. Let's learn from each other as we share these invitations to what is higher and deeper.
We draw strength, support, and inspiration from poetry and wisdom traditions. All paths and views are welcome -- this is an open and welcoming space where we get to know others who share a love for spiritual poetry and wisdom quotes, and for that which connects us with a deeper life, regardless of spiritual path or personal history. One note - we appreciate the poets among us, but we don't read our own work.
RSVPs close three hours before the meetup begins (1:00pm Pacific Time), so please make sure to RSVP in advance! You must be logged in on Zoom to join the meeting, and a password is required. The password will be sent by Meetup message or email as we get closer to the date. Please make sure your email settings for this group have email updates turned on so you can receive the email. For information on how to adjust your email settings click here. If you haven't received the login details by early the day of the meetup, please let me know.
Take-Home Poetry Packs are available for free download at https://intrinsicheart.com under the "Poetry & More" tab. (These are a gift for enjoyment, not a prescription for readings!)
