  • The Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany

This will be a recurring Meet-Up, on the first Friday of every month.

The Church EVENT begins at 7pm, SHARP!

I posted for 6:00 because if someone requests an escort into town, I will meet you at a speedline station at SIX PM. (Make arrangements with Taoe if you want a guide into the city) Dress for WINDY conditions. Sensible shoes.

The speedline ride is half an hour and the round trip cost for the train is $5.40.
Note: The PATCO speedline is safe. There is audio and video surveilance all over the train cars and stations, and patrol and security personnel at all station stops.

Once we surface in Philly, we have a TWO BLOCK walk to the giant church.
(we will pass a convenience store on the way)
The ceremony is held in a sanctuary of the church. Not up the main steps! Look for the
opened black-iron gate to the left of the main steps.

To introduce you to Taize' Prayer Around the Cross, I wrote about my own experience, to convey how deep and moving it can be. That letter is POSTED in the discussion board, in the first file. Go to Discussion Boards: SEC: Ideas, Expansion, Activities, & Projects.

My personal account is followed by important information about the founding of the "everyone's-invited", ecumenical order, by one Brother Roger in Taize', France, amidst the hell of WW II. Understanding this history and the intention of the ceremony is important. If you haven't time to read, for THIS Friday's gathering, come anyway. We'll fill you in.

Please share with us, this deep celebration.
