With a background in statistics and data science, David is the editor of the Revolutions blog (http://blog.revolutionanalytics.com) where he has written about applications of data science with a focus on the programming language "R" since 2009. He is also a co-author of the R manual “Introduction to R”, and a member of the board of directors for the R Consortium. He lives with his husband in the San Francisco Bay Area. ## R at Microsoft
In 2015, Microsoft acquired the R-based software startup Revolution Analytics, which spurred Microsoft's investment in R and, ultimately, in open source generally. In this talk, I'll review the history of R at Microsoft, and survey the landscape of Microsoft products than now integrate with R.
