What we’re about

Welcome to the Spring of Code group!

We are a civic engagement community creating digital tools to improve democracy and public services.

This Civic Tech project is based on the ethics of open data, free software, open source and creative commons. So join up, and shout out what's missing from the online tools already out there or how we can make them work better together.

We advocate for a user centred-design approach as the only way to design digital products and services that people will actually use.

    Who should join?

Improving democracy isn't just for Developers, it is everyone's mission. To design digital projects that address the needs of users, we need many skillsets involved to analyse, re-think, design, prototype and develop the whole experience. We need service designers, domain experts, UX/UI Designers etc. to bring the right level of expertise to projects.

    What happens in a meeting?

People meet people, pitch each other projects, share their war stories, talk about product needs, get essential user feedback

    What happens between meetings?

People buddy up on projects, hack, design, get creative and update on site their progress.

Do you have a Code of conduct?

Yes we follow the excellent 18F Code of Conduct.
