CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) is a set of principles and practices that allow for frequent and reliable product delivery. The use of a consistent and automated process also improves collaboration, code quality and team velocity. This presentation will explore two CI/CD mechanisms for Spring Boot applications. The first will deploy the application to a set of VMs, while the second will deploy to a Kubernetes cluster. The processes demonstrated will include the use of Jenkins (build), Jacoco (test analysis), SonarQube (test reporting), Ansible (deployment automation), Docker (packaging to an image and pushing to a Docker repository), and Kubernetes (container orchestration). At the conclusion of the discussion, you will have a clear understanding on options for building and deploying your applications at scale with open source technologies.
