Women's Open Empowerment Circle

Unity Christ Church

Hello Beautiful Women! You are invited to join our monthly, women's open Empowerment Circle. During these circles, every woman is given the opportunity to share a piece of her story, and be witnessed and supported by other women. If you choose not to share, we ask that you bring the intention of hearing the other women, and respecting their journey. No previous experience is necessary, and there is no cost for the event. There is no need to RSVP if you cannot attend. Our "want" is that you plan to arrive no later than 3:00pm as we make every effort to respect our START / END time. Please know that you are always welcomed to bring a woman-friend (or more than one)! Hosted by Meg McClelland, E-Circle Coordinator, Woman to Woman St. Louis Area.

Sweat Lodge for Women & Men

7030 Canterbury Ave.

This is our regular monthly lodge, always held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. Although we crawl into the afternoon lodges at 1 pm, and the Solstice and Equinox lodges at 7 pm, the ceremonies actually begin about 3 hours before that, when we start to build the fire and place the stones inside it. The fire is always lit 2 hours before the sweat lodge starts, so the stones have sufficient time to heat up. We prefer that you begin to arrive during this these early hours of preparation, in order to take part in all of the rituals. Each have a special significance: removing the old stones from the pit from the previous lodge, building the fire, laying out the new stones and placing them on the fire, laying down the tobacco line, covering the lodge, smudging each participant before entering the lodge, and of course, instructing all newcomers on what to expect before they enter the lodge. (Also, many hands make light of the work!) While we don’t want to turn people away, it is off-putting to have people arrive late, and sometimes keep us waiting to crawl in as they change clothes. Many have lately been arriving just before the lodge begins, with no time to enter sacred space, get smudged, etc. Please remember, this is a sacred ceremony. Helping to prepare for the lodge makes us all part of the community. Appropriate attire for men is swim trunks or shorts and for women, shorts & a t-shirt or long skirts or dresses. Cotton clothing is advised. You might want to bring in a towel with you. Bottles of water are provided, & you can also bring your
