Agenda

  • 6:30-7:00 - Food and Drink

  • 7:00-8:00 - Presentation

  • 8:00-8:15 - Q&A

This session will cover 10 of the Hadoop ecosystem projects and give the group an understanding of what makes up the Hadoop ecosystem today, how the tools are used, and when to use these tools to build data solutions.

Since Hadoop started as HDFS + MapReduce 10 years ago, it has evolved and the overall ecosystem has grown. Today the ecosystem is robust and can solve nearly any data problem that is thrown at it. However, to anyone new to Hadoop, the suite of tools can be intimidating. We will go through 10 Apache projects and what problem the project aims to solve. When you leave this session, you should have an understanding of what Hadoop is and you should be able to architect high level solutions to common data problems.
