Introducing the R Language / About Hue

As a lead-in to January's presentation from Revolution Analytics about running R programs at scale on a Hadoop cluster, Tom Wheeler will give a short introduction to the R language for those who aren't yet familiar with it.

Tom's presentation will focus on explaining what R is, the basics of its syntax and data structures, and how to run R programs both interactively and in batch mode on a single machine.

Afterwards, Tom will give a brief talk about Hue as well as a live demonstration showing how this Web-based tool makes it easy for end users to interact with a Hadoop cluster.
