The Young Adult Ministry of St. Mark Catholic Church is open to all Catholics in their 20s & 30s. The main focus areas of the group are: Spiritual – Focusing on our spiritual development through faith formation and prayer. This includes "The Path", a series of informal classes on the Catholic Church teaching, history, and tradition with Fr. Brian Becker and Fr. Alfonzo Gamez. Service – Utilizing our time, talent and treasure to share with others in and around St. Mark. This includes various service opportunities to help the needy in the North Mecklenburg area. Social – Focusing on developing strong bonds of friendship and community. This includes fellowship activities such as grabbing a beer, playing in intramural sports, and attending weekend retreats. To learn more about upcoming events and happenings with other young adults, check out this meetup group or contact Bobby Hogan at email@example.com.
Evangelizing the Culture is a series where we discuss a topic, item, or event in mainstream culture from a realistic Catholic young adult perspective.
Join us as we watch and discuss the new movie "Tolkien", which is based on the formative years of the life of author J.R.R. Tolkien, known for The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. The movie covers the author's early life and friendships, the courtship with his wife Edith, and his experience in the First World War. After the movie, we will discuss how Tolkien's Catholic faith played a vital role in his life and writing. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3361792/videoplayer/vi3958881305
These nights tend to run long, so feel free to bring some dinner or snacks, and we will have some provided as well.
If you are not traveling for the holiday the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, join St. Mark young adults for a night of bowling (and food, beer, and games)! Bring your friends and meet at Spare Time at 7:00 pm.
The Young Adult Ministry is privileged to assist once again with Room In The Inn. This is the perfect opportunity for our group to show that we live lives of stewardship and love.
