Using Docker for Development and Production
Docker is an open platform for developers and sysadmins to build, ship, and run distributed applications, whether on laptops, data center VMs, or the cloud.
We are going to explore how we can leverage Docker for use while we develop our applications as well as once we are ready to deploy. We will discuss creating a container that will allow us to work on our .NET Core application in a way that incorporates live rebuilds, debugging, and continuous testing.
Once we have our development environment configured we will turn our attention to deployment. The reasons we would want to use Docker in production are plentiful. Benefits include but are not limited to application scalability and consistency in deployment configuration across environments.
