Building an API

The basics of building modern Application Programmer Interfaces with a focus on REST and ASP.NET Web API.

APIs are an increasingly common feature of modern software applications. The most common form of API today is the RESTful API. In this discussion, Microsoft Certified Professional, Jay Van Ord, will describe some of the real-world challenges and solutions to building a modern API on the ASP.NET framework, including a live code demonstration.
Jay VanOrd

Jay is a full stack engineer and architect specializing in web Applications and cloud services on the ASP.NET (http://asp.net/) platform. He started his programming career in high school writing BASIC programs for the TRS-80 and in 2011 he founded his current consulting and custom software company: Indasys LLC. He is an autodidact and technology enthusiast who enjoys learning and experimenting with the latest tools and technologies as they emerge.His professional goal is to help lead the drive toward the next generation of Web and Cloud Applications.
