Over Devils Gulch Road (short 13-15% grade) and down towards the east side of Estes Park. We are going to stay away from the busier core part of EP. We'll get on to Hwy 34 and descend to Loveland. At mile 46 is the Colorado Cherry Company store. We can stop there for regrouping if desired. Upon returning to our cars we can drive a short distance south to Berthoud Brewing Loveland (opens at 12pm) for beer and pizza.

  • Volunteer Course Marshal at B-Strong Ride

    Celestial Seasonings

Okay, pay attention!! I need you to get this exactly right. Do all of the following steps. Don't skip any! There are ten important details. Count them. Ten.

    1. Go to the B-Strong website and sign up. These details are important. Please get them right!
    a. https://www.bstrongride.com/?page=volunteer_application
    b. List “Road Safety Marshal” for all 3 job choices. DO NOT select Aid Station, Event HQ, SAG or Medic.
    c. In the field “Please list anyone you would like to be partnered with when working,” type "SVCG" and any partner request you have. Note, if you don’t put SVCG in there, we won’t get credit for you! If you don't list a preferred partner, we will assign one for you. Friends and family are welcome and encouraged to sign up as well. They don't need to belong to SVCG nor to know how to ride a bicycle, but they should also follow these instructions.
    d. Choose a shift: 6a-12p, 10a-4p, 6a-3p. Note: you won't have to work all those hours. You will be assigned a several hour period within those times.

    2. Click the "Attend" button for this Meetup. Include the count for any friends and family you signed up.

    3. Make a comment below in this Meetup, including all the information below. Yes, I know some of this information is redundant with the above, but I don't have access to the B-Strong database.
    a. The full name you used to sign up. If you also signed up friends or family, please let me know their full names too.
    b. The shift you chose.
    c. Let me know if you have shift flexibility. We need to provide a certain number of people in each shift, so I want to know if we can move you to another shift if necessary.
    d. Let me know if you will be unavailable to attend the briefing meeting on Tuesday, August 10 at 6 p.m. at Celestial Seasonings. We can make arrangements to cover for you.
    e. An email and/or phone number I can use to contact you with questions.

B-Strong makes a donation to the club, which supports all of our costs for the next year, which is why we don't have to ask you for money.

All volunteers get lunch and a T-shirt (and beer if old enough). All marshals work in teams of two.

This event is of course dependent on a reasonable pandemic situation in August.
