Dr. Stanislav Grof, MD, the creator of Holotropic Breathwork, is coming to Los Angeles for only the second time in 15 years to do a weekend workshop. He is a psychiatrist with over 50 years of experience researching non-ordinary states of consciousness. He is one of the founders and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology and founder of the International Transpersonal Association. His many books include Holotropic Breathwork: A New Approach to Self-Exploration (with Christina Grof), When the Impossible Happens and Psychology of the Future.
Two years ago, he came to Los Angeles for the first time in 15 years and his weekend workshop sold out quickly.
I encourage any of you that have an interest in Holotropic Breathwork to attend this event. It is very rare that you have an opportunity to meet and interact with the creator of a healing modality that is being practiced around the globe. Dr. Grof just turned 82, so there is no telling how much longer he will be leading workshops himself.
Note: all registration for this event is done through GTT (Grof Transpersonal Training) at: http://www.holotropic.com/schedule.shtml Just scroll down their schedule until you find this event.
The schedule will be as follows:
Friday evening: 6:30pm - 8:00pm - Lecture by Dr. Grof on "The Healing Potential of Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness" where you will gain the benefit of insights and information that Dr. Grof has obtained in over 50 years of work that he has done in this area. Following the talk, you will stay until 10:30pm to begin preparation for the breathwork.
Saturday all day: Holotropic Breathwork Experiential Workshop
Sunday morning: Workshop Followup.
This will include a followup sharing group, as well as an “open mike” period where Dr. Grof will be available to answer any questions you may have about the weekend, or his work.
The event is being organized by Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT), the international organization that runs the Facilitator Certification Program for Holotropic Breathwork. The event costs $375, including lunch on Saturday. I am the local coordinator, but I have no financial interest in the event, all registration is done through GTT at: http://www.holotropic.com/schedule.shtml Just scroll down the schedule until you find this event.

P.S. In addition to this event, there is a second event happening earlier in the day on Friday February 10th at the same venue, called "Movie Yoga", which is about using the principles of Holotropic Breathwork to turn movie watching into a spiritual growth experience. This amazing seven hour course will teach you how to learn more about yourself and move you along your spiritual path through watching movies. The cost for this event is $85 (if you register before December 1st). Registration for this event is also done through GTT at the same url as above.
