What we're about

We are a Star Trek Fan Group, working in screen accurate costuming with the purpose of celebration of the Star Trek Franchise, Role Play, and most importantly, Charity work. The group will be split into ships. Each ship will be dedicated into different eras of the Star Trek universe. Please inquire to group organizer to star your very own ship. Currently we are staffing our flag ship the USS ARTESIA (the costume is the Next Generation movies and second half of DS9). Welcome to Star Base Alpha Prime!

Watching "Captive State" in Theaters!

location tbd

There are a lot of interesting sci-fi movies coming out this year, which we are very excited to watch! Please join us as we attend the Friday night opening of "Captive State" featuring John Goodman! Plot Synopsis: "Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, CAPTIVE STATE explores the lives on both sides of the conflict - the collaborators and dissidents." The location will be decided closer to the event. I know we have a lot of members scattered throughout Orange County, so I was thinking of AMC Tustin, AMC Orange 30, or AMC Dine-In Theater in Fullerton. Also something to consider, whether or not we want to meetup and eat dinner together before (or after) the movie. Please give me your opinion in the comments below!

Relay For Life 2019

El Dorado Charter School

Relay for Life is the U.S.S Artesia's BIGGEST EVENT OF THE YEAR! As a Star Trek group that is optimistic about the direction of society (including technological and medical advancements and improving everyone's standard of living) we love to help make such a future a reality by participating in CHARITABLE EVENTS! This will be our fourth year supporting and attending Relay for Life! Too many of our members have lost loved ones to cancer. We believe that by helping to raise money for the American Cancer Society, we are providing cancer patients with desperately needed resources and helping scientists discover ways to treat the most aggressive cancers. We want a world without cancer! What is Relay for Life? Relay for Life is a 24-hour fundraising event with a powerful message, "Support, Remember, and Fight Back!" This community event brings together local people whose lives have been affected by cancer. Hundreds of people will be walking the track at Canyon High School for 24 hours in acknowledgement that "cancer never sleeps". There will also be a lively marketplace/festival where each team will be selling raffle tickets, food, and other things - the proceeds of which all go to the American Cancer Society! There will also be music, games, and educational displays. Then as it starts to get dark, join us for the Luminaria Ceremony in which we light candles and honor loved one who are fighting cancer or have passed away from cancer. If you'd like to spend the night, you can also pitch a tent on the field and join us for the Closing Ceremony at 9am the next morning. We will have a large booth at Relay for Life of the Canyons under the name "Star Trek Artesia"! This year, we are excited to announce the addition of carnival games (for children and adults) such as a Ring Toss. We are also hoping to add a brig this year so our Security Officers can throw people in the brig for a bit of harmless fun! What To Bring: Water, some spending cash (small bills), sunblock, hat, clothing to walk in. Uniform for the Star Trek members that are costume ready. Important Things to Know: *This is a class B uniform event and a class A uniform event.* If you would like to show up with complete FX makeup, we would love to support you! Wigs are also a great accessory! Remember, it takes months to plan and prep this event! Be on the look out for constant updates throughout the year from our Science Officer Cari-ann and Second Officer Joanne Powers. We will be posting construction days as well as Luminaria Bag Decorating Parties! There will be many opportunities for you to get involved!
