We are a Star Trek Fan Group, working in screen accurate costuming with the purpose of celebration of the Star Trek Franchise, Role Play, and most importantly, Charity work. The group will be split into ships. Each ship will be dedicated into different eras of the Star Trek universe. Please inquire to group organizer to star your very own ship. Currently we are staffing our flag ship the USS ARTESIA (the costume is the Next Generation movies and second half of DS9). Welcome to Star Base Alpha Prime!
We will be meeting on Zoom for a few hours to craft. If you have something creative you've been working on and would like to hang out (virtually) with other makers, hop on!
There is no agenda, no topics, no stress. Talk if you want, just hang out if you don't want to talk. Be on video or just on audio. It's up to you. We just want to hang out and make stuff.
All crafters/makers are welcome. Come and go as you please. Craft projects need not relate to Trek, but it's extra cool if it does. Hope to see you there!
Join Zoom Meeting
In a joint mission with the USS ASTRAEUS, we will be watching the documentary “What We left Behind”, about Deep Space 9 and where it would’ve gone had there been a another season, via Zoom and discussing it.
This film is AMAZING. It will excite you! It will make you think! It will make you cry. It brings a great appreciation for what was (at its time) a very underappreciated chapter in Star Trek History
The USS Artesia is very excited to announce a new type of reoccurring event for our group: Book Club!
We welcome everyone to participate in Book Club. Each quarter, we will assign a book to read (giving you approximately 3 months to read the book). We will then meetup at Polly’s Pies to discuss what we read and/or related topics.
The book for the month of October is Jill Heinerth’s book, "Into The Planet".
We will be meeting up virtually using Zoom.
You do not need to have read the book to participate, though, it is encouraged. Some people enjoy attending book club discussions to decide if they want to read the book in the first place. Capt. Joanne and Lt. Kovar will have read the book and will lead the discussion.
The criteria for choosing the book will not be strictly any book that is set in the Star Trek universe. We will also read books about science, adventure, and sci-fi. We will keep the book length at approximately 200 pages.
If you have any book recommendations, we’d love to hear them! Please post a comment below or reach out to Lt. Kovar or Capt. Joanne with your ideas!
It’s the time of year to “Trek The Halls”! Join us this holiday season for our third annual Ugly Sweater and Red Elephant Party!
We have decided to return to the Golden Corral in Anaheim as they were great to us last year.
What is a Red Elephant Gift Exchange? Small, mostly inexpensive gifts get passed around in a way that the buyer of the gift never ends up with their purchase. It's a great way to exchange gifts with people you may not know well and they still get something they may enjoy.
Please bring a wrapped holiday gift that costs around $10. The gift should be a fun or practical gift that the recipient will enjoy at home. Not intended to be gag gifts
