ShapeShifter Technologies: Dr. Hamish Dean on Cutting Shapes

Join us this month as we welcome back to Christchurch Dr. Hamish Dean, founder of ShapeShifter Technology.

Now based in Los Angeles, Hamish leads the ShapeShifter Technology team, providing breakthrough software which chooses the best puzzle-like patterns to help factories minimise waste.

Hamish came up with the algorithm while doing a PhD funded by Macpac, he taught himself to write the software then began selling it in China. The company has been through an incubator, taken on Angel Investment, and now serves major brands internationally such as Nike, Adidas, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and others.
