Scott Noakes on Linewize: Helping Children Safely Use The Internet

Details

Come along to hear from Scott Noakes, Co-Founder and CEO of Linewize.

Founded in Christchurch, Linewize helps teachers manage internet access in the classroom.

While the internet is great at making all information accessible, it’s not all suitable for kids.

Linewize is a cloud-managed firewall that elegantly balances the need for schools to restrict inappropriate content versus maintaining open access to learning opportunities. The software also provides visibility of usage to enable constant improvement of system and filtering policies.

In a classroom setting this means that the teacher has visibility over whether students are on task or not, and they also get notified of unsafe behaviours to enable timely conversations which contribute towards raising better digital citizens.

Deployed in over 200 schools in New Zealand, and customers in over 30 countries, Linewize is growing locally and overseas at an impressive rate.

Highly commended in the NZ Innovation Awards 2016 and in the Australasia Internet Awards 2016, Linewize are one to watch!

Come along for pre-drinks from 5:30pm, with formalities starting at 6pm.

We’ll wrap up the evening with free drinks and pizza =)
