This meetup doubles as a regular monthly meetup open to all and as a reunion for attendees from Startup Weekend Christchurch 2017.
As our guest speaker we have the privilege of hearing from Aimie and Paul Sibson, founders of Christchurch Ed-Tech business LINC-ED (https://www.linc-ed.com).
Both with teaching backgrounds, Aimie and Paul saw that teacher communication with parents was an event, but needed to reflect a child’s ongoing learning and be in real-time.
LINC-ED gives parents a window into their child’s progress in the classroom, reducing report-writing time for teachers and allowing better communication between school and home.
In the shift from ‘timed’ reporting to ‘timely’ reporting, LINC-ED has changed reporting into a conversation, rather than just information being sent out by the school.
It was a massive win for LINC-ED to be selected onto the Vodafone Xone corporate accelerator programme in 2016. At the time LINC-ED was in a relatively small number of primary schools, with Paul working in the business full time and Aimie part-time. Over the past 12 months, being part of the Vodafone Xone Programme has accelerated LINC-ED’s growth as a company. The software is now in both Primary and Secondary schools across the country from Invercargill through to Auckland and continues to grow.
Join us for pre-drinks from 5:30pm, with formalities starting at 6pm.
We’ll wrap up the evening with free drinks and pizza =)
