THIS IS A FREE EVENT - PLEASE FINISH YOUR RSVP IN THE LINK BELOW https://www.startupgrind.com/events/details/startup-grind-boston-presents-finding-product-market-fit-with-dave-katzman-head-of-cx-at-onshape-ptc/ About the Event On an average, 42 percent of startups report that customers had no market need for their products. In 2018, the total cost of poor quality software in the U.S. totaled $2.84 trillion, which is a tremendous business cost, especially when there is a lack of product-market fit. The product development journey requires companies to implement a scientific approach to gather feedback from partners early, to avoid expensive mistakes and learn to pay attention to more than just revenue and bookings. Dave Katzman will share his insights on what startups should consider before launching their product as well as best practices that he has learned from having worked with some of the world’s best product developers, who regularly assess market fit with consumers. In this session, Dave will explore: · Tips on finding the right market-fit for your technology · Why it is critical to engage customers as partners early on, especially those who represent your target market · Common mistakes with product-market fit and what to pay attention to, besides revenue and bookings · Lessons learned from some of world’s leading innovators · And more... About the Speaker Dave Katzman focuses on reimagining how products are developed and deployed in the digital era. His expertise includes determining product market-fit and business strategy, as well as advising leaders on adopting new processes to build innovative products. He currently leads Customer Experience and Strategy for Onshape at PTC. Prior to PTC, Katzman was the vice president of Sales and Customer Success for Onshape -- the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product development platform company where he was instrumental in working with early customers and product development to determine product-market fit. In addition, Dave was heavily involved in designing, implementing and overseeing business operations and policies – from customer success and sales to partnerships and business development. Onshape was acquired by PTC for $470 million in October 2019. Previously, Katzman was a senior consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Katzman holds an MBA from Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering and economics from Tufts University. An avid fan of Boston sports teams and aspiring grill master, he also enjoys riding his Peloton, and boating with his wife and young daughter.
