Increasing Funding Opportunities for Female Founders

Details

Finding funding for a startup is a challenge for any founder, but it’s especially frustrating for female and women of color founders.

Our guest, Marie Meslin, is Executive Director of The Capital Network (TCN), a non-profit organization supporting early-stage founders with education, mentorship and access to investors.

Marie joined TCN in 2015 as Program Manager, and in 2016, she Founded TCN's Female Founders Fellowship Program to engage and support more female founders through TCN's resources.

To date this initiative has supported 60+ female founders, (50% BIPOC), of which 43% have then raised over $12.5 Million!

In 2020 Marie and TCN created a new initiative to increase investment diversity and inclusion in the startup ecosystem.

In collaboration with the Venture Capital Inclusion Lab out of Brown University, TCN has produced a series of conversations titled: Investment & Inclusion: Effective Approaches and Practices to look at ways of diversifying VC and Angel portfolios.

From pipeline, portfolio and performance, this Series explores how investors can create a more diverse portfolio that will support ‘new majority’ founders while growing their returns.

Please join me on Friday, December 18 at 1pm EST to meet Marie and learn how The Capital Network is changing the landscape of investment opportunities for female founders.
