We have a special visitor in the country!!

Former COO and the first employee of Startup Weekend, Shane Reiser has built the operational infrastructure that took Startup Weekend from 50 to 200 annual events in over 100 countries, personally organized and facilitated over 100 events, wrote the global event playbook and trained over 100 facilitators around the world.

Shane is also the founder of Startup Genome, a Kauffman-backed not for profit that maps and measures geographic startup communities. It has since been acquired last year in 2016 so he knows a thing or two about how to scale and exit successfully in the startup world.

Shane has implemented lean methodologies at two venture-backed startups – Dwolla & Kohort and has been an active coach and trainer for 6 startup accelerators. Today, Shane runs 'Your Ideas Are Terrible', a boutique corporate innovation consultancy.

Shane says he's looking forward to returning to New Zealand since studying abroad in Wellington in 2006 and we are delighted to have him back in the country and speaking at Startup Garage!
