We’re glad you’re thinking about fundraising. Because that means you’re probably thinking about a good idea and how to build it. Please join us and bring your fundraising questions to our next panel on July 24th at Knotel.

Brad Hargreaves, Common CEO/Founder, General Assembly co-founder & fundraising veteran will lead a discussion with some of NYC’s most talented entrepreneurs and investors. They will share their stories, offer their best advice and answer your questions about getting funding for your startup.

• Soraya Darabi is the founding partner of Trailmix Ventures, an early-stage investment firm focused on the future of living well. Soraya is also an entrepreneur, having founded Foodspotting in 2009 (acquired by OpenTable) and, Zady in 2013 (aka “The Whole Foods of Fashion”).

• Cyrus Massoumi is a partner at Humbition & the founder of ZocDoc. ZocDoc is one of the most exciting NYC tech companies from the past decade, having grown to now reach 40% of the US population and employs more than 600 people. Cyrus is an active startup investor & advisor.

• Liz Wessel is the founder & CEO of WayUp, the go-to job site for early-career professionals. WayUp launched in 2014 and has raised nearly $30M; it was named by CNN as one of the 30 most innovative companies changing the world.

Here are some of the important topics we’ll be addressing:

• To VC or not to VC? Alternative sources of capital, like angel investors, crowdfunding and debt.

• Your growth plan. And why that’s crucial to any decision about when and how much to raise.

• What investors want to know about your business. What factors create a good investment opportunity? What are common concerns?

• Strategic fit matters and usually makes for “smarter money” at the table. How do you think about finding investors that are a good fit for your startup.

• A dash of logistics. Yes, we’ll surface helpful tools and resources that have helped these investors and entrepreneurs along the way.

See you then!
