This interactive presentation is designed to give you a taste of all the possibilities from programming in R and is part of a Data Journalism DC series that provide practical training in data science tools for journalists and other interested folks.
R is a programming language and free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. The R language is widely used among statisticians, data scientists, as well as journalists for a wide range of tasks.
We will cover the basics of the R programming language from installation, navigating across the R environment from the GUI and RStudio. Finally, practice creating data, importing, and make some simple visuals to get everyone comfortable using the software.
