The oil patch downturn in Stavanger has hit many local professionals where it hurts: their jobs! I want to establish the Oil Patch Rats to provide a virtual forum to discuss and share experiences in these confusing times. The oil industry is flooded with great technology, enabled by great software capabilities, requiring extensive training and long learning curves in their effective application. The Oil Patch Rats gatherings will enable open sessions for local geoscientists to meet and exchange ideas and experiences personally, informally, and without formal (corporate) training costs or sales pressure. The sessions, or Rat Chats, are designed to enable participants by encouraging open and enlightening communication in their domains and roles. Please join in!
